3,000 Sales
When My Artists launched last week I set an explicit goal of 6,000 sales which would mark the end of the launch competition. I wasn’t so explicit about was how long I expected it to take, and that was because I genuinely had no clue.
I did not imagine however that after only 5 days of sales My Artists would be half way towards that target. Here’s how it happened:

And here’s a breakdown of those 3041 sales in the 10 most popular app stores:

241 further sales are split between 33 countries.
Germany and Netherlands are by far the unexpected leaders in that table, and massive sales in those countries on the 27th and 26th respectively account for the camel hump in the graph above. My Artists is currently available in English only but work begins this week on Dutch and Deutsch localisations.
Five days of sales data is insufficient to draw many definite conclusions but one thing that is clear is that My Artists has yet to realise its potential in either the US or the UK.
UK sales are paltry…

…and although US sales have been more abundant…

…they have nonetheless been dwindling and My Artists, although peaking at Number 13 Top Paid Music App, has now slipped out of the Top 50.
Ireland has been the most consistent territory with 5 days of relatively unfluctuating sales:

These sales levels have been sufficient to keep My Artists as Number 3 Top Paid Music App in the Irish store and hovering between Number 15 and Number 20 Top Paid App in all categories.
Now to see how long the next 3,000 take.
